The Ultimate Free IRS Tax Guidance Source: The Forbes 2013 Tax Guide

Here at ExactCPA we feel the Forbes 2013 Tax Guide is a terrific source and platform of an introductory understanding of the U.S. Tax Code & Compliance Puzzle.   However as you scan through the many subjects and topics....be mindful much of the content was written prior to the historic early January 2013 passing of the  2013 Fiscal Cliff Legislation / American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012" (ATRA).  So though we feel the The Forbes Guide is excellent and informative, you might want to consult with a CPA whose research resources are current & complete before 'running' with anything you read here. For example this content was created for publishing in a magazine hence under the restriction of a "word count" and deadlines, etc.  That means generally tax code and compliance matters a lot more intricate and complex than abbreviated "tax guides" have time & space for (just something to be mindful of as you explore the guide).

Janet Novack of the Forbes Staff writes: Whether you’ve yet to start your 2012 tax return or are planning for tax savings in 2013 and beyond, Forbes can help. In this 2013 Tax Guide, we’ve assembled some of the most useful recent articles by Forbes staff and contributors covering everything from how to claim the biggest tax breaks for retirement and college to details of the January fiscal cliff tax deal. Plus, there’s lots of advice here on how to file your 1040 and avoid problems with the Internal Revenue Service.
