AU: Accounting software giant Intuit, makers of the Quickbooks cloud accounting solution, has expanded its Sydney-based Australian business with an on-the-ground presence in the Queensland market.

Peter Dinham for IT Wire writes: In a move to grow business in Queensland, Intuit has appointed its first Business Development Manager in the state, based in Brisbane.

Announcing the appointment of a former Brisbane business coach, Owen Howells, as the Business Development Manager, Intuit Australia Managing Director Nicolette Maury said the move into Queensland represented a “strategic in-market presence” to improve Intuit’s capacity to support local SMBs and their financial advisors across the state.
Howells coached accounting firms for three-and-a-half years before joining Intuit.  Maury said Queensland had a thriving community of more than 410,000 small businesses (the third highest after NSW and Victoria) and, unusually, was the only state where there are more small businesses in regional, rather than metropolitan, areas.

“This significant investment will enable us to introduce Queensland’s small business owners, accountants and bookkeepers to the power of cloud accounting. QuickBooks Online is a simple to use but powerful financial management offering that will help change their working lives so profoundly they won’t be able to imagine going back.”

To promote the huge benefits of SMBs being able to access and manage their finances from anywhere on any device, Maury said Intuit is running an eight week regional advertising campaign, using the theme ‘Seriously easy online accounting for small businesses’.   SNIP, the article continues @ IT Wire, click here to continue reading.....
